This has been an interesting week. My daughter's birthday and 14th wedding anniversary. The President broke 3 campaign promises. My wife returned from a 10 day trip to CA (visiting Kid and Grandkids). I drove the golf ball extremely well. I turned 60 years old.
Did I mention my 60th birthday was this week? (Hope I am not suffering short term memory loss at my young age!) This one event turned out the most interesting happenings of the week, for sure. Gratefully, I heard from our Kids and Grandkids. Two old friends called (Dick K and Rob G) which was an enormous surprise. My siblings called. My best friend Dennis and his wife called (and we dined together). My in-laws called. The Office made a big deal about my youth. My father died about 39 years ago and my mother still lives in the home of my youth.
Presents? You bet. Nothing needed or expected but they came from my wife, my grand daughters (home made) and my best friend and his wife Sandy. Cards? I got more than I deserve.
This week I am officially "old." I feel like I am still about 35, I look my age but try not to act my age. I don't think of myself as a 60-year-old guy, perhaps others notice changes in me due to age. Since I can remember important events (dates leading to wedding date, Kid's & Grandkid's births, military, business, grace-filled close calls, etc.) as if they happened a few months ago perhaps 60 years is not a long time.
Thankfully I have forgotten most of the events that might make me a bitter old man. I least I hope so, I can't remember.
